When America entered World War I, companies had been forced to raise wages. Inflation was on the raise because America was putting money towards the war. the number of workers decreased and those who were still working wanted more money and less hours. The companies could not met their demands because they were going through problems themselves. Because all these problems could not have been taken care right away, workers went on strike.
